Although it operates at a basic efficiency level, it delivers adequate warmth even in the coldest weather conditions when matched properly to your home’s heating needs. With an input capacity of 88,000 BTUs and an 80% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency), the furnace provides 70,400 BTUs of usable heat. This means 80% of the fuel consumed is converted into heat for your home, while the remaining 20% is lost through flue gases and normal furnace operations. Due to its efficiency rating, this furnace requires metal venting. For homes needing PVC/plastic venting, a furnace with 90% or higher efficiency would be required. The unit comes ready for natural gas operation but can be field-converted to propane with an optional LP conversion kit. Note that this model is not compliant with Low NOx or Ultra Low NOx standards and may be subject to a mitigation fee in California.
